Location: Former Soviet Union The ENGINEERING MANAGER (TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER) will report to the Mine General Manager at the mine site. The incumbent’s main role will be to plan open pit mining operations to maximize efficiency, safety and profitability.
>> DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Your main duties would include a focus on Mine technical planning and engineering, Geology, Drill & Blast, Dewatering, mining projects. Your duties would not venture outside of mining..
• The focus will mostly be on mine planning and production efficiencies. The mine plan calls for over 140,000 production tons a per day and greater than half a million ounces per year.
>> EXPERIENCE
• Currently likely in a TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER (ENGINEERING MANAGER) role in an open pit environment on a hard rock mine.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in mining operations is necessary with 2-3 years experience in open pit mining at senior level. International experience is desirable.
• You will have experience on mining operations of similar size and production levels.
• Has considerable experience with open pit mining and exposure to underground mining operations in this capacity.
>> SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Must be willing to relocate and actively enjoys international assignments;
• Superior technical management skills, combined with an ability to develop and supply services (survey, geology, mine planning, engineering, bulk earthworks and mine projects) by applying leadership skills not just management techniques;
• Must be adept at motivating and obtaining results, leading by example with a participatory management style. Firm but fair results orientation;

>>EDUCATION AND ATTRIBUTES
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mining or Civil Engineering from a recognized tertiary education facility is a definite requirement;
• Senior Management Program or MBA would be advantageous;
• Prior experience in a FSU country, or developing countries, would be advantageous;
• Russian language will be an asset;
• Medically fit to work at +4000 meters and arctic conditions.
