Infrastructure Engineer

Our Client is a major minerals company operating globally. The Mining Business Unit operations cover the first phase of the energy cycle and consist of four main activities: mineral exploration (discovering new ore deposits), mining (extraction of energy minerals), ore processing and site reclamation following mining activities. The company operates a number of mines and mineral process plants in Francophone West Africa.

Our Client has a requirement within the Project department of the mining business unit and as part of the startup Project for the mine in Francophone West Africa, your mission is to lead and coordinate a part of the project linked to new infrastructure.

You will be part of the Project Development for the Project, reporting to the utilities project manager.

>> As an Infrastructure engineer, you are responsible for:
- Creating and monitoring the schedule for your part of the Project;
- Controlling the smooth running, by the prime contractor and the service providers, of work and tests with regard to safety, quality, compliance with regulations in force, costs, lead-times and technical performance;
- Controlling purchase monitoring;
- Managing the relationship with the worksite teams and anticipating keeping them informed.

Initially the position will be based in Paris and then in Francophone West Africa on or near the minesite.

You hold an engineering masters degree and have additional training in project management;
You have a basic knowledge of electricity;
You are familiar with the African markets;
You are bilingual English/French;
You have effective communication and consultation techniques;
You take a keen interest in technique and customer relations.
