Mine Manager

Our client currently seeks the services of an experienced Mine Manager for their open pit mining operation in Africa. Reporting to the Site General Manager, you will take ownership of all operational objectvies, providing strategic direction and management of the Mining Department.
Possessing a strong and proven track record in the managment of open pit gold operations in a multi-cultural environment, to be successful in this role you will have:

* A degree in Mining, Geological, Civil or related Engineering discipline;
* 10 or more years experience in remote mining operations, 3 years or more of which at senior management level;
* Expertise in hard rock open pit mining operations and engineering;
* A balanced managerial and technical abilities in mine production, engineering and projects;
* Proven business acumen, having produced effective departmental budgets, cost control measures and reporting;
* Prior experiences leading a multinational expatriate & national maintenance workforce in remote emerging market locations;
* Strong people management & interpersonal skills.

This role is offered on residential status or a choice of commute roster depending on your point of hire. A competitive salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
