Client, a mechanical subcontractor located in East metro Atlanta, GA, with a focus in the health care, university, laboratory, and data center markets, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping CAD Designer.
Responsibilities:
-> Drawing mechanical piping systems
-> Coordinating HVAC systems with other trades work
-> Producing spool & tag drawings
-> Producing PV&F material take off reports
Requirements:
-> 5+ years HVAC experience, including 3 years with a mechanical contractor
-> Experience with AutoCAD 2005 or newer
-> Experience with CADMech 3D 3rd party piping program
-> Experience with NavisWorks 3D BIM modeling desired

Questions you will be asked:
• Have you drawn mechanical piping systems using a 3-D CAD system? Have you used the 3-D CAD software to run material take off reports? Please explain.
• Have you made fab spool sheets? Please explain.
• Has the candidate designed steam and condensate systems? Please explain.
• What type of piping, fittings, and valves would be appropriate for a 125# steam system and an atmospheric condensate system?
• Have you performed expansion and stress calculations for piping systems subject to thermal expansion? Please explain.
