Electrical Inspection Engineer

The Inspection Department is charged with the corporate responsibility for Inspection of materials and equipment purchased, and equipment and facilities constructed for Saudi Aramco. This incumbent will be assigned to the Inspection Department's Northern Area Projects Division where he will have frequent contacts with operating Division and Unit Heads to ascertain problems, define scope of projects, and develop solutions. There will be occasional contact with Managers and infrequent contact with Executive Management in responding to inquiries or presenting conclusions of their research. In addition, there will be frequent contacts with suppliers of data and information such as estimating engineers, and construction engineers.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Electrical Degreed incumbent will initiate or conduct special studies for improving facilities or operations; provides specialized technical service in recognized engineering fields; acts as consultant on complex engineering problems; designs and/or projects; coordinates or directs work of other engineers. Discusses, coordinates and resolves problems with personnel throughout Aramco and subsidiaries and outside of company organizations. Acts as a mentor, coach, and technical consultant when required.

SELECTION CRITERIA: The incumbent will have frequent contact with middle management within Projects Management, Construction, Operations, and Electrical Services Organizations to discuss and resolve engineering problems. Electrical incumbent must be able to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and IEEE or equivalent. In addition the candidate will be expected to act as the focal point of contact for project reviews and in technical matters related to his field of engineering. Also, the candidate will be considered as an expert in one or more recognized engineering fields and is required to undertake or coordinate complex engineering work. Preferred candidates to possess IRCA certification.

EDUCATION: B.S. Engineering. EXPERIENCE: Nine (9) years, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry, such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as an expert.
