Legal Counsel - Procurement
Woodside's legal department manages the legal affairs of Woodside and provides timely, competent, constructive and cost effective legal advice, training and support across all company activities. With a forecast capital spend profile of in excess of A$50 billion dollars over the next 7-10 years and with existing production the key to funding such growth, effective and efficient contracting in the supply chain is critical to both the existing production business and delivery of capital projects.
The Woodside Legal Procurement Group supports the legal aspects of the supply activities (including the general aviation and marine logistics activities) undertaken by Woodside, including.
• Providing advice and legal assistance in relation to the preparation, negotiation, implementation and administration of its various supply and construction related contracts - ranging from helicopter services contracts and aircraft and vessel charter parties to contracts for the fabrication, construction and operation of FPSO's, LNG tanker vessels and multi billion dollar offshore platform facilities and LNG plants.
• Providing legal advice on disputes and claims under supply contracts
• Providing legal advice and counsel on legal and regulatory issues arising under supply contracts, constructive review of all contracts in accordance with company policies, reviewing transactions to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements.
You will be a proven team player with excellent communication and engagement skills, you will also be able to demonstrate the ability to build networks and influence others. Negotiation, cost focus and time management will be part of your skill set. Tertiary legal qualifications and professional post admission experience in construction, procurement or maritime law are essential. Experience in the oil and gas industry will be regarded positively, but is not essential.
