Job Description
The Item Master Support Specialist will report to the Global Supply Chain Manager and provide cross functional support for multiple business units.
This Item Master Support Specialist position will have responsibility for data input for set up of item master part numbers as well as the maintenance of the item master data base. The focus of this position will be to assign and set up new part numbers with all relevant attributes as identified by the Engineers into the Oracle Item Master Database. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of raw material, material grades and common commodities within the oil and gas industry as well as common commodity description nomenclature. The candidate should also have a general understanding of customs tariff classifications as they relate to imported material and export compliance codes as they relate to exported material and will be detail oriented.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
-Assignment and set up of new part numbers into the item master database
-Accurate application of material/commodity attributes as identified by Engineering.
-Research within Jobscope inventory and Oracle Item Master for existing part numbers to reduce duplication efforts.
-Review of material/item set up request for customs and export compliance codes.
-Ensure item description falls within acceptable industry nomenclature.
REQUIREMENTS
-Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the oil and gas industry in a support role to one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Project Management, or Procurement.
-Must have a high school diploma with some college hours preferred.
-Must have experience navigating in an ERP system and will have a working knowledge of raw material and common commodity descriptions as well as an understanding of industry standard nomenclature and some exposure to customs and export compliance codes.
-Must be disciplined, organized, task and detail oriented with good verbal communication skills and the ability to work closely in a team environment.
