Basic Functions:
Project Management of the construction of oil and gas production pipelines and facilities.
Relationships:
Reports to the Manager, Asset Team
Works internally with Head Office Operations and Development, field superintendents, and surface land, and externally with construction contractors and equipment vendors
Specific Responsibilities:
Provides cost estimates for pipeline & facility installation
Generates project AFEs.
Project management for installation of oil and gas pipeline and facility projects.
Engineering design, drawing review and approval.
Ensures designs are in accordance with regulations and material/equipment specifications.
Compose ERCB & OGC pipeline & facilities applications.
Cost tracking, construction scheduling, construction management.
Conduct HAZOP reviews
Writes, issues, reviews, and awards bid packages for equipment and services.
Develops proposals to optimize facilities in collaboration with the production teams.
Assist Operations with troubleshooting existing equipment issues.
Participation in development team planning meetings.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications:
Professional Engineer with 12+ years experience in oil and gas construction in Western Canada.
Excellent communication skills with all levels of engineering and field staff.
Working knowledge of relevant CSA Standards (Z662, Z245.1), ERCB Directives, and ASME B31.3.
Working knowledge of project management software.
Professional engineering designation in Alberta. British Columbia and Saskatchewan engineering designation an asset.
