Based on experience.
Our client is a large public utility in the state of Nebraska. They participate in both wholesale and retail power supply; as well as purchase a portion of their power from Western Area Power Administration. Their power generation facilities include: nuclear, steam, combined cycle, wind, hydro, gas/oil and peaking units. They are currently seeking an Environmental Specialist to join their Corporate Environmental Department.
Candidates would be responsible for providing support to their corporate environmental processes. This includes development of policies, procedures, programs and studies in the areas of: air quality, water quality, waste management and natural resources. This position will serve as the primary contact between environmental regulatory agencies, the utility operations, consultants and stakeholders.
Ideal candidates will have a Bachelors Degree in an environmental, scientific or engineering discipline. A Masters degree in a related field is preferred. Professional certification is preferred, such as Registered Environmental Manager (REM) or Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM).
