POSITION DESCRIPTION: Successful candidate will (a) provide consultations to field operations of Saudi Aramco's upstream facilities, on as needed basis (b) write company standards, procedures and best practices in his area of expertise. Serve on international standards writing bodies as opportunity allows (c) provide consultation and review for capital project developments reviewing engineering design packages. Attend project review meetings in or out of the Kingdom, as needed (d) develop new technology and apply new technologies in Saudi Aramco operations. Apply for patents when appropriate (e) participate in providing training courses to young engineers. Mentor young engineers and be prepared to share knowledge with them. Publish technical papers. (f) lead or be a team member of special teams such as incident investigation teams, special audit teams, organizational improvement teams, etc.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. The minimum required degree for the position is a BS in Corrosion Engineering. Other acceptable majors will be Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and other related sciences. Advanced degree is preferred. Licenses required are Chartered Engineer (IK) or Eur Ing (Europe) or Professional Engineer (USA) or NACE Specialist (USA).
COMMENTS: The Corrosion Technology Unit of Consulting Services Department is responsible in providing technical consultations and maintaining standards on issues related to corrosion prediction, mitigation and monitoring, hydrotesting, water treatment, chemical cleaning, mothballing and equipment preservation, boiler condition assessments and emulsion prevention.
