Senior Development Geologists
Responsibilities:
To integrate all reservoir data in order to build and maintain sound geological models for input to reservoir simulation. These models will form the basis for planning, designing and optimizing well drilling programs, field development plans as well as reserve and economic evaluations.
Successful applicants will be expected to work closely with geophysicist and petrophysicist to integrate seismic and petrophysical data into the geological model.
In addition, the successful applicant must be able to think laterally and integrate production and engineering data, all of which will be used to meet company production and forecasting targets.
The work scope generally encompasses:
* Sequence stratigraphic analysis.
* Structural analysis.
* Reservoir characterisation.
* 3D reservoir modelling.
* Uncertainty and Risk management.
* Field Development Planning.
* Planning and evaluation of both appraisal and development wells.
* Identification and utilisation of new and emerging technologies.
As a Development Geologist, the selected candidate will be responsible for the technical quality of all development geological modelling studies. Operational activities will require close interfacing with the drilling and completions team for their respective fields. It is critical that the candidate is not only self motivated but also an excellent communicator and team player. Coordination of technical studies from geological service groups both internally and externally and consultants will be required.
The selected individual will be exposed to a range of experiences across the complete E&P value chain. The position requires a strong team working ability and good communication skills, in order to provide integrated geological interpretations and solutions for the generation of development opportunities.
• Degree in Geology with advanced degree preferred.
• Professional Geologist with 5-15 years of progressive experience in the oil & gas industry preferably working with an Operator.
• Strong technical background in reservoir characterisation, sequence stratigraphic analysis, structural framework analysis and both seismic and production data integration.
• Experienced hands on user of 3D Static reservoir modelling software
• Practical experience in Uncertainty Analysis, Geostatistics and Value of information assessment.
• Experience in development well planning and execution (including high angle / horizontal wells).
• Sound knowledge of Field Development Planning processes.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
Knowledge of other disciplines (Reservoir Engineering, Geophysics, Petrophysics, Economics, and Quantitative Interpretation).
