Description: DESCRIPTION: Review Client specifications for Code Compliance. Create Project Specific Piping Material Classes for all Process & Utility Services. Visits and Qualifies Vendor Facilities as required. Issue and maintain piping and valve material specifications utilizing SmartPlant Reference Data. Execute and verify all piping engineering related calculations (pipe wall thickness, branch reinforcement, vacuum, paddle blank thickness) Work closely with clients and other disciplines on piping related issues. Development of technical, design and purchasing specifications for all piping components. Development of speciality items as required by project. Technical bid analysis of vendor quotations for all piping and valve components. Maintenance of Corporate Commodity Code and Piping Material Specification systems. Development of component commodity codes for company and project specific databases based on industry standards and manufacturer specific construction. Provide training to other users related to piping specification development and standard applications usage. Previous experience with Oracle based materials management systems preferred. REQUIREMENTS: BS or MS in related field or applicable discipline, typically an engineering degree; or equivalent experience if allowed by law. Thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted procedures. Generally 4-7 years of experience in field with BS, or 3-5 years of experience in field with MS; relevant professional registration is preferred. Recognized as having a specialized depth or breadth of expertise within the department. Interprets internal and external business challenges with impact on the organization and recommends best practice solutions. Contributes to implementation plan development and program coordination.
