Qualifications:
An energetic, self motivated geophysicist with 10 years experience in the Oil and Gas E&P or consulting industry with some background in geophysical interpretation for international reserve evaluations.
A strong geophysical background and hands-on experience with geophysical interpretation for reserves and resources assessment.
The successful candidate should demonstrate future leadership skills as well.
Experience in using seismic interpretation with Petrel and SeisWare preferred
Proficiency with 2D and 3D seismic interpretation, preferably on international assets as well as domestic, including heavily structured plays
Experience in both clastic and carbonate plays
Strong geological knowledge of depositional systems and their seismic expression
Proficiency in seismic attribute mapping
Good knowledge of AVO analysis
Working knowledge of gravity and magnetic techniques
Broad subsurface background with good understanding of reservoir uncertainty
Results oriented and disciplined approach to project completion
Combination of technical proficiency and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills
Familiarity with reserves definitions and guidelines an asset
Strong computer and applications software literacy
Should be able to work independently
Mentoring or coaching skills an asset
Other language skills an asset
Active member of APEGGA and other professional technical associations
Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise to a team of geologists, geomodelers and engineers, resulting in the successful completion of reserve evaluation and resource assessment projects within appropriate scope and schedule guidelines.
Working with International clients to assist in formulating appropriate project scope and schedule estimates.
Provide technical expertise in multi-disciplinary teams to enable meeting project objectives within agreed scope and schedule.
Communicate effectively the results of technical analyses to team members and the clients.
Conduct reserves evaluations and resource assessments using deterministic or probabilistic methods.
Mentor and coach your colleagues on an ongoing basis.
Some travel may be required.
