One of its major Clients in the Middle East (Oil & Gas Company) is currently seeking competent and dedicated Oil and Gas professionals in the following disciplines.

Urgently Require: Plant Operators

General Summary:
Functions as an Operator of Chemical processes, utilizing advanced (DCS) technology. Monitors and controls the production process in the area of responsibility, through efficient usage of resources, as per established operational procedures, under the direct supervision of the unit/shift supervisor.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Commissions and de-commissions process plants.
• Operates, achieves and maintains optimal operating parameters
• Monitors information concerning process conditions, and solve problems/take corrective actions where necessary.
• Exchanges information on process conditions at shift hand over.
• Diagnoses and corrects problems affecting process conditions as per operating principles and theory.
• Reports and responds to incidents, hazardous conditions and/or emergencies.
• Ensures that the production plan is effectively executed on shift
• Ensures the safe operation of the plant and equipment
• Coordinates effectively with supporting activities
• Supports and assists in development of personnel
• Develops and continuously optimises resources
• Communicates, co-ordinates and assists team members in the production process
• Compiles shift reports
• Reports deviations to Group Leader
• Loads and off-loads rail/road tankers.
• Complies with all legal requirements
• Adheres to applicable safety and work standards
• Practices good housekeeping
• Reports all unsafe conditions to supervisor
• Keeps safety equipment in workable condition
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Operating Environment:
• Work is performed in a well structured working environment where clear reporting relationships are established for all positions;
• Work is performed under the close supervision of the Shift Supervisor;

Communications and Working Relationships:
• Regular contact with the Shift Supervisor and Lead/Panel Operators to discuss operational matters and work priorities;
• Regular contacts with Maintenance team and other supporting department staff to ensure adequate support services;

Problem Solving/Complexity:
• Under the supervision of the Lead Operator, solves routine problems within the scope of approved policies and procedures, precedent and gained experience;

Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:
• Plans and prioritizes work as agreed with the Shift Supervisor and the Lead Operators;
• Monitors production process in area of responsibility and takes corrective action as per operational guidelines;
• Work is reviewed regularly by the Shift Supervisor and the Lead Operators;

Job Specifications/Minimum Requirements:
• Education: (Engineering Diploma or equivalent – essential / Chemical Engineering Degree – preferred)
• Experience: (3 years plant operation experience as a Plant operator/Outside SPC – essential)
• Must have proven practical experience.

Working Conditions:
• Work performed mainly outdoors, in the Plant Operational Environment.
