DEPARTMENT: E&P Development - Land
REPORTS TO: VP Land
BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Under minimal supervision, this position will capture and maintain the integrity of all data and create maps, displays and presentations as required for the Land Department
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Compile and maintain geographic data and maps for land usage, including wells, seismic, leases and pipeline data
• Capture and manipulate data utilizing multiple sources, i.e. aerial photography, government and state databases, satellite images, surveys, geo referencing, and plot plans
• Create all displays and professional graphics required for presentations to management; generate powerpoint ready files and latest version of maps
• Provide support for measurement, compliance, piping, evacuation, structural revisions to plans
• Support various departmental technicians assisting with any technical questions concerning various databases and technical support pertaining to use of software or useage of large document plotters
• Understanding geology and geophysics requirements to provide back-up drafting support as needed to other departments
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Minimum Associate’s Degree in GIS, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Graphic Arts, Design or related field
• At least 5 years experience in the oil and gas industry using GIS software to manipulate, convert, reproject, analyze and map geospatial data
• Advanced working knowledge of ArcView, ArcMap, ArcCatolog, and ArcToolbox required in addition to technical proficiency in PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD
• Ability to read and interpret oil and gas land documents, including oil and gas leases, contracts, and deeds related to records
• Position requires a high degree of independent thinking and initiative
• Display excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to show discretion in dealing with sensitive confidential data
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, process work rapidly, set priorities, work under pressure, prioritize and follow through with assigned tasks
