Responsible for installation, integration, commissioning, repairs, testing and reporting at on and offshore locations on the hydraulic/mechanical aspects of Subsea Control Systems

Responsibilities and tasks

• Take a leading role in hydraulic/mechanical aspects of field work.  Demonstrate the high standards expected from all Aker Subsea field personnel.
• Develop a proactive and productive relationship with client representatives.
• Supervise and participate in all the mechanical aspects of site integration testing of Subsea Control Systems.
• Supervise and participate in all the mechanical aspects of the offshore installation and commissioning of Subsea Control Systems.
• Investigation, diagnosis and repair of system hydraulic faults to component level.
• Interface with other Aker Subsea personnel to ensure that the customer’s needs are serviced in a professional, prompt and efficient way.
• Feedback all discrepancies with equipment and/or documentation to the Support Engineer through Field Service Reports (FSRs), Field Issue Logs (FILs) and Worksite Performance Records (WPRs).
• Attend mobilisation briefing and ensure that fully understands the scope of work.
• Attend demobilisation meeting to ensure all reports and admin paperwork handed in and any issues closed out in a timely manner.
• Follow instruction given in the ‘Scope of Work’ contained in workpack.
• Ensure that Worksafe cards providing positive and negative feedback for all HSE matters are raised and closed out in a timely manner.
• Participate in the preparation of equipment/spares for offshore containers.
• Any other requirements to allow field operations to run smoothly.

Qualifications & personal attributes

• HNC/ONC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering

• Experience in Subsea Controls or Control & Instrumentation

• Experience of SCADA, DCS & PLC’s.  Software knowledge used in advised systems.  Knowledge of Master Control Stations (MCS), HPUs, EPUs, TUTUs, umbilicals, jumpers, telemetry advantageous.  

• Four year mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent preferred

• Previous supervisory experience preferred but not essential. Demonstrable leadership qualities and people management skills essential
