Job description
Our client is an international oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in the United States, Middle East/North Africa and Latin America regions.
Overview:
Work with a team of reservoir, production, geologists, and facility engineers, along with operations personnel and other technical experts, to optimize and develop the production of waterflood and CO2 flood fields. Duties include optimizing waterflood and CO2 flood performance, coordinating surveillance activities, assisting in tertiary studies, and designing, implementing, and post appraising cost effective and economically successful workover, completion, and drilling programs. Additionally the successful candidate, depending on years of experience, will be responsible for mentoring less experienced Production Engineers.
RequirementsQualifications:
1. BS degree in Engineering. Masters degree preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years oil and gas engineering experience with a significant portion as a production engineer.
3. Demonstrated ability to use petroleum engineering theory to solve problems and identify enhancement opportunities
4. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and post appraise cost effective and economically successful workover, completion, and drilling programs
5. Working knowledge of oilfield chemistry as it relates to corrosion, scale and paraffin deposition
6. Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information
7. Proficiency in performing economic evaluations of projects including risk analysis
8. Proficiency in mentoring less experienced production engineers
9 Well developed basic computer skills including the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. High proficiency in all required technical and economic software packages. Experience with DSS, OFM, and PEEP is a plus.
10. Planning and Execution of capital drilling programs.
11. Past experience in Permian Basin operations
12. Past exposure to waterflood and/or CO2 flood.
13. Background in evaluating and implementing conformance improvement projects.
