Financial Analyst needed for a fulltime opportunity in Houston, Texas working for a premier E&P company. In order to be considered the qualified candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline along with 1-2 years of experience in the E&P industry in a financial analysis setting and/or have gas marketing experience. The selected individual must have knowledge & understanding of accounting/finance principles, terminology and procedures, as well as oil and gas/energy industry exposure, primarily revenue, derivative, and/or marketing concepts. The incumbent must have intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel, (pivot tables, look up references, light exposure to Visual Basic) a working knowledge of MS Word and Access, (writing queries and working with data table structures) experience retrieving data from systems, comfortable working with large amounts of data, experience developing and maintaining financial models and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, he/she must be self-directed with strong analytical and organization skills. The candidate will be working with a small group and must frequently interface with disciplines across the organization, so strong interpersonal skills are a must. Will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing electronic models supporting the annual net income budget and responsible for frequent updates to financial and cash forecasts and future budget plans. The Financial Analyst must also maintain and enhance documentation supporting financial forecast processes and procedures. Additionally, the Financial Analyst must meet deadlines and perform various analytical functions to assure that financial forecasts are developed in accordance with GAAP, SEC and company requirements. Furthermore, the Financial Analyst will prepare quarterly ceiling tests, participate in SOX audits, participate in special projects as needed, as well as assist in the budgeting and monthly financial forecast process.
