Job descriptionDuties will include:
- Carrying out surveys of plant and building in relation to existing or proposed contract and instrumentation, writing of reports.
- Liaison with Operation and maintenance staff, as per construction supervisor instructions.
- Checking of project related drawing and documents for compliance with site requirement.
- Inspection of project materials, including impulse piping, cables, enclosures, and all related fixings, labels, brackets, frames, terminations, etc. which have been supplied by contractors or directly purchased by the company. Inspection of storage conditions for materials.
- Following the construction work on site, and checking status reports and progress reports which have been prepared by the contractors. Inspecting the finished work and advising the construction supervisor of any instrument related problems, and of possible techniques for resolving these problems. Testing and calibration equipment and procedures.
- Familiarisation and compliance with company rules and procedures.
Requirements- Higher Certificate in Industrial Instrumentation or equivalent from a recognised college.
- Fluency in English Language and computer Literacy is required.
- 10 years or more working experience with process controls and instrumentation, at least 5 years of which should have been obtained in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
- Familiarity with current construction techniques and procedures and installations in areas of explosion hazard, Familiarity with API, BS, EN, IEC, IP, ISO, NEMA standards and codes of practice will be also be an advantage.
