Job descriptionOur client is the world’s leading provider of downhole equipment and services to the worldwide oil and gas industry.
Currently with an IMMEDIATE requirement for a Warehouse Foreman- Shipping. This position offers exciting opportunities and excellent career prospects at our clients Aberdeen site.
Responsibilities include the management of staff to control the preparation of all outgoing goods, the checking and keypunching of all incoming goods, the safe loading and unloading of vehicles, and the distribution of goods throughout the facility.
Goods Inwards
• Unloading of vehicles
• Checking of goods against delivery/advice notes
• Keypunching of receipts onto SAP
• Internal distribution to departments
Despatch
• Preparation and packaging for all outgoing goods
• Supplying the shipping department with weights and dimensions
General
• Responsible for the supervision of the team, which includes the distribution/allocation of workload, general running of the area, handling day-day issues and queries from the team, health and safety matters, training requirements/certification renewals, overseeing annual leave requests, managing absence issues, resolving workplace issues, allocation of overtime, approving hours worked.
Requirements• Driving license
• Ability to supervisor a team
• Forklift certification
• Skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages, including e-mail
• Organizational skills
• Communication skills
• Ability to use a variety of manual/electric hand tools in relation to the packaging/unpackaging of goods
• Skills in the use of a side loader is preferable
• Ability to work in a team environment and on own initiative
• Ability to delegate work duties and organize priorities on a daily basis
• Ability to work safely and to ensure the safety of others
• HND qualification or equivalent work experience.
• Experience gained within a busy shipping department
• Experience of preparing goods for local, national and international transport
• Experience in the receipt, data input and distribution of incoming goods
• Experience gained in relation to the allocation of daily tasks to the team
• Experience gained supervising a team of employees
• Experience gained in relation to the prioritizing of work needs
• Experience in the use of IT packages
• Experience gained within a manufacturing environment
• Box making experience
• Experience of operating a forklift and the loading and unloading of vehicles
