Description:CCL has been requested by a major international oil and gas company to provide a quality contracting professional to work as Contracts Advisor within Project Team initially based in Houston and will transition to New Jersey location. Contract position with excellent terms and conditions. Vacancy is being handled by CCL's Houston office.
Qualifications:Ideal candidate will have Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business with extensive direct experience of contracts formulation and administration of large oil and gas capital projects which must include lead project contracting roles for an oil company or a major EPC contractor. Computer literate / able utilize common project cost and contracts databases, maintain close working relationship with cost engineering to ensure seamless communication of accurate data and proactive response to information. Excellent analytical skills to prepare / evaluate contract status reports to enable forecast of final costs. Well developed communication / consensus building skills to form positive relationships with peers, contractors, superiors, customers and subordinates. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and spoken English. US residency or work permit essential.
Experience:Demonstrated experience of working in a multi-functional project team with leading international contractors on a major capital project including working in a lead contracts role on large capital projects (project value in excess of $250MM) and of working independently within context of major capital projects. Extensive experience in developing contracting administrative procedures and formulating bid packages (lump sum EPC, unit rates, reimbursable, etc.). Role will include: contract systems work process management including development and documentation. Contracts development to lead bid analysis, contractor selection and contract negotiation. Contracts administration including lien waivers, insurance, claims mitigation and closeout. Capable of assisting project team with development of insurance strategy / overall project risk allocation strategy. Identify, manage & document potential claims. A team player who also works effectively as an individual and is a champion and supporter of contracting best practices.
