Job descriptionRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
•Maintains the permit/license/authorization/approval acquisition schedule and adjusts priorities as required
•Prepares permit and license applications as required
•Provides advice to Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors on regulatory and environmental issues
•Supports the E&R Lead by Preparing for Regulatory Compliance Assessments & readiness reviews and Maintaining key interfaces with regulatory agencies, and EPC contractors
•Works with the design and execution planning teams to ensure that designs and execution plans align with the project's regulatory compliance and environmental protection/performance expectations, requirements, and commitments/obligations
•Provides advice on and interpret environmental laws and regulations and conditions contained in project-specific permits/licenses/authorizations/approvals
•Provides input into the project's regulatory compliance and environmental training program, as required.
•Provides suggestions and support regarding the overall implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the Project's Regulatory Compliance Plan and the Environmental Management Plan
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
•Engineering/environmental degree with a minimum of five-year experience
•Excellent background of regulatory and environmental issues facing the oil industry. Previous experience in regulatory and environmental areas highly desirable.
•High degree of independence
•Able to provide guidance to EPC contractors in the regulatory and environmental area
•Knowledge of environmental and regulatory management processes and tools
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
This position will be based out of Calgary, and will include some travel to the project site
