Our client is a vertically integrated Oil & Gas company whose principle assets are based in Papua New Guinea. Specialising in both upstream and downstream operations, they currently own 8 million exploration acres, with a petroleum refining facility supplying the entire domestic product needs in the country.

Due to continued expansion, they currently require a Port Moresby Based Operations Manager.

Reporting to the General Manager, the purpose of the position is to manage the physical assets, capital and operational human resources to ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and distribution of bulk and packaged petroleum products to meet both current and future market demands. You will oversee the aviation into-plane refuelling operations and related logistics on the vatrious airfields utilised.

Addittionally, you will oversee the provision of professional engineering and maintenance services to ensure the plant and facilities are sufficiently operational in achieving the company's objectives.

Successful candidates will have tertiary engineering qualifications, whilst although not essential, formal qualifications in business management would be an advantage. An understanding of tankship oprations, experience with bulk and packaged petroleum product supply and distribution would also be highly regarded.

Specific responsibilities will include:
# Cohesive management and performance monitoring
# Lead the operations engineering services
# Identify improvement strategies
# Manage budget and expediture processes

With the primary asset in Papua New Guinea being their oil refinery with an operating capacity of 32,500 barrels per day, along with their upstream and downstream operations and exploration projects, they currently occupy the largest investment project undertaken in Papua New Guinea.
