Energy Job Description
Avasthi & Associates, Inc., Houston-based worldwide petroleum consulting company, is looking for experienced Petrophysicist for immediate consulting assignments.
Required Experience:
At least seven (7) years of oil & gas industry experience is required.
This Job Requires the Following Skills:
The ideal candidate will have: (1) expertise in conducting multi-mineral petrophysical analysis using Interactive Petrophysics (IP) software, (2) expertise in working in teams charged with the responsibility for developing static reservoir models by integrating data from various geosciences disciplines (development geology, seismic interpretation, petrophysical evaluation, and related technical disciplines), (3) expertise in working with reservoir simulation engineers charged with the responsibility for developing dynamic reservoir models, (4) proficiency in using PC and expertise in using Interactive Petrophysics (IP) software, and other commonly used technical software in their area of geosciences discipline, and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), (5) strong interpersonal skills for working in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural project teams, (6) well-developed report writing and presentation preparation and delivery skills, (7) project management skills to meet the project deadlines and deliver quality presentations and reports in a timely manner, and (8) fluency in English. Fluency in Spanish will be considered a plus.
This Job Requires the Following Computer Skills:
Proficiency in using PC and expertise in using Interactive Petrophysics (IP) software, and other commonly used technical software in their area of geosciences discipline, and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Geosciences, or equivalent, is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
Fields of Expertise:
Petrophysics and geology.
Position Type: Contract
Travel Required: 10% of the time (approximate)
