Growing independent exploration and production company with both domestic and international operations is seeking a Supply Chain Account Manager – Drilling and Completions for their Global Supply Chain business unit located in Houston, TX.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key member of the Global Supply Chain Team, the successful candidate will be the focal point for development and implementation of supply chain strategies to support drilling and completion activities in the Gulf of Mexico. This role takes ownership and accountability for understanding Gulf of Mexico drilling and completions contractual requirements and coordinating supply chain activities to meet those requirements. The successful candidate will interface with Gulf of Mexico Drilling and Completions personnel to identify contracting requirements, to develop market approach strategies, to implement contracts and to maintain supplier relationships in order to secure the materials and services required to perform drilling and completions activities.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide supply chain management expertise to the Gulf of Mexico Drilling and Completions team to ensure that supply chain management issues are addressed proactively in order to meet business requirements.
• Communicate supply chain and strategic sourcing philosophies to internal customers.
• Identify supply chain opportunities within Gulf of Mexico Drilling and Completions that enhance value to the business.
• Facilitate collaboration and leverage support between the Drilling and Completions teams and Global Supply Chain Category Managers.
• Develop key performance indicators for drilling services and manage contractor performance as required.
• Identify key contract risks and the associated mitigation strategies.
• Work with the Global Supply Chain Team to ensure supply chain management best practices are identified / applied and that corporate leverage is gained where possible.
• Build strong working relationships with internal customers to understand their requirements, drivers and timelines.
• Participate in planning meetings with drilling and completions personnel to forecast future contractual requirements.
• Facilitate the market approach for sourcing strategies including sourcing strategy selection, determination of eligible suppliers, coordination of the overall sourcing process, evaluation of commercial and technical proposals and negotiation and execution of contractual documents.
• Negotiate legal and commercial terms to achieve optimal business results.
• Ensure compliance with legislative regulations and corporate policies and procedures (Sarbanes-Oxley, FCPA, etc.).
• Ensure all new team members understand the supply chain processes and their respective roles.
• Support the budget, AFE and management reporting processes.
SKILLS:
• Knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices including strategic sourcing, market analysis, contracting methodologies, risk analysis, principles of contract law and supplier performance management.
• Knowledge of Exploration & Production business, specifically drilling operations and associated services and materials.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with various disciplines and levels within the organization.
• Ability to work within a project environment with critical drivers and timelines.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, establish targets, and develop implementation plans in support of business objectives.
• Strong networking, interpersonal and teamwork/collaboration skills.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline required.
• Advance degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years experience with 5+ years related to supply chain management in an Exploration & Production environment. Candidates with supply chain management experience in drilling and completions services and materials are preferred.
MUST BE LEGALLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK FULL TIME IN THE U.S.
