Sr. Petrophysicist needed for a full-time opportunity in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will have 10 years of experience performing studies and interpreting well logs and geological data. Integrate well logs, geological and seismic data. Well logging interpretation to determine lithology, porosity, fluid properties, fluid saturation, permeability, etc. Well logs quality control and editing. Pore Pressure studies. Petrophysical analysis: Rock evaluation, Rock physics and integrating petrophysical data. Desirable if able to work with Attributes analysis: AVO Analysis, fluid substitution, feasibility studies for seismic inversion. Prepares reports and presentations for technical, senior management reviews and partners. Data management. Candidate needs to have the ability to operate the following software: Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Lotus Notes, OWL database, Interactive Petrophysics and other proprietary software. A workstation loaded with software that allows handling data Written and verbal fluency in English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. To write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations; to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases; to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to visualize and think in 3-dimenensions. Deepwater GoM experience a real plus. Will consider strong Gulf Coast onshore/offshore experience.
