Tanganyika Oil Company Ltd. is an international oil and gas exploration and production company with interests in exploration and development properties in Syria. Tanganyika has made significant achievements with the appraisal of value enhancing opportunities in Syria which has included testing enhanced oil recovery ("EOR") techniques and exploration drilling. The stated objectives of the Company include the consistent growth of reserves, production and cash flow per share.
Petrophysicist – Calgary Based
Reporting to the Team Lead, Asset Management and working within a multi-disciplinary environment, this individual will provide petrophysical input to the planning of logging programs and the reservoir analysis of the development and producing assets within the company.
Responsibilities:
Perform petrophysical analyses of wells to be drilled by the Company;
Carry out petrophysical analyses / calibration of existing log suites from wells in the fields;
Provide support to the geological and geophysical team as required;
Recommend logging programs and provide input to drilling plans.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders, including joint venture partners and government representatives;
Prepare comprehensive documentation of all major work and studies undertaken.
Qualifications:
University degree in Petroleum Geosciences or a related discipline.
Four to six years of solid experience as a petrophysicist.
APEGGA membership preferred.
Demonstrate detailed knowledge of LWD and wireline logging tools and analysis, including cased hole logs.
Experience in working with fractured carbonate reservoirs is a must.
Solid working knowledge of the GeoGraphix Prizm Log Interpretation package.
Proven analytical skills to integrate and interpret a broad variety of data sets.
Advanced computer skills.
Self-motivated with a proven record of achieving targets.
A team player who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Ability to travel internationally as business needs dictate.
