MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: BS Geology, Chemistry, Geochemistry, Geophysics, or Engineering.

Experience: 15 years of varied experience in exploration geology or reservoir characterization with a focus on Basin Modeling. Geochemistry and integrated regional studies and/or prospect development. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written are essential. Proficiency is required in Basin Modeling software, geochemical analysis techniques and methods. Thorough knowledge of risking petroleum system components, timing, maturation and migration modeling is needed. In depth understanding of fluid properties, particularly gas condensate and volatile oil classification. Candidate must have expertise in integrated geological studies, prospect generation and analysis. Familiarity with one of more of the following specializations is desired; gravity and magnetic data interpretation regional tectonics, structural geology, basin modeling, geochemistry, sedimentology and/or sequence stratigraphy. Experience with Joint Venture exploration companies, familiarity with formation evaluation or risk analysis and volumetrics will be an asset.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary function will be to geochemical and basin modeling support to a small team conducting integrated studies. Work with the team to design and conduct regional and/or detailed local studies integrating the interpretation of well logs, gravity, magnetic, geochemistry data, temperature data, core descriptions and geophysical data to develop basin models that will be used to guide Saudi Aramco and its Joint Venture partner s exploration efforts. Calculation maximum expulsion volumes based on source rock richness and thickness estimates. Model the thermal history of the basin to predict maturation of source rocks and timing of expulsion. Conduct migration path studies to identify favorable areas. Collect, organize and identify existing geochemical data and formulate recommendations for future analysis programs. Formulate recommendations for optimization, collaboration and efficiency improvements by identifying synergies in Joint Venture and Saudi Aramco exploration operations. Write concise technical reports, memos and presentations quickly and accurately.
