Our client have an immediate need for a Senior Drilling Engineer to work in their office in North Africa, which is focused on land based drilling activity. They have one rig already with a second rig arriving mid year and a good national staff which is coming up to speed nicely. The vacancy is due to an Engineer who's normally based elsewhere and whose assignment has finished. Ideally this person could be available in country by mid April. The position has been on in country resident assignment, but we could also entertain a rotation (6/2, 8/3) or two persons rotating 28/28. They are also looking for a Senior Drilling Engineer and Wellsite Supervisor to plan / drill one HTHP well this year, starting in June. Thay have the rig (one of the ones mentioned above), the casing, etc. and just need the HTHP expertise to help staff there deliver a successful well. Ideally, they would like the SDE to be available in mid April too. They could perhaps cover both assignments, one resident with HTHP, or one resident for a 12month assignment (potentially longer with appraisal success) and one short term (6 month) to deliver the HTHP well and then go to another assignment. The HTHP well is a wildcat exploration well, 18 - 20,000 ft MD, 450 degrees Fahrenheit, and 120 days in duration on current schedule.
