Excellent opportunity for a Metallurgical / Welding Engineer authority with a leading petrochemical refinery near Chicago. Must have a BS in mechanical engineering, or equivalent BS in Welding or Metallurgy, and 10+ years experience in the petroleum refining industry, with at least 5+ years as a subject matter expert in metallurgy and welding, and 5+ years working on multi-million dollar capital projects. P.E. registration is preferred. ASME, API, ASTM, NACE welding, Corrosion, NDE and Boiler, Pressure Vessel, Piping experience and certifications are applicable. Position will provide engineering expertise and judgement in all aspects of metallurgy / welding for projects including code compliance, procurement, fabrication, construction and testing, including close liaison with contract engineering and construction companies.
