This position requires min. 7 yrs design engineering experience of crude oil & gas production facilities. Effective written and oral communications skills as well as solid planning and organizational exp. is required. Fully familiar with national and preferably local codes and standards such as AISC, ACI, AWS, ASTM and NFPA requirements. Ability to develop practical civil and structural concepts and solutions required. The successful candidate must be familiar with standard engineering software including STAAD Pro and Microsoft Office Products. North Slope or offshore experience is strongly preferred. Previous lead and/or supervisory exp. is a plus. Review design engineering drawings and check designs for conformance with client spec and code requirements. Develop and write engineering scopes of work and develop and review schedules for assigned projects. Report project performance using earned value terms. Review vendor bids to assure compliance with project design specifications. Ability to lead a design team of one or more Structural Engineers and designers. Must have the willingness to obtain Professional Registration in the State of Alaska within one year.
