Sr. Geophysicist / Geophysicist needed for a fulltime opportunity with a premiere E&P company in New Orleans, LA. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's in geology or geophysics, a minimum 5 years experience as an exploration geophysicist, and a knowledge of data loading and data management issues. Additional requirements include knowledge of HW and SW environments dedicated to time and depth processing, interactive seismic interpretation, reservoir description, and 3D visualization. Job responsibilities will include providing geophysical evaluation of time and depth seismic data, providing expertise as a specialist in support for exploration and new development activities, and interpreting and mapping seismic data related to new venture projects. Must be computer literate in UNIX based workstations and on PC based computers. Experience with interpreting seismic images complicated by salt tectonics and experience with depth imaging and development of velocity models required. Prior experience / exposure with prospect risking and reserve calculations.
