Due to an internal move, an outstanding opportunity exists for a rotating equipment professional to take on the technical lead role within the discipline in supporting Woodside's operating facilities and providing input to projects and developments.
Why the position exists:
* To ensure systems and processes are in place to manage the technical integrity of WEL operating facilities.
* To lead the Rotating Equipment discipline to ensure a consistent approach across the Operations Division.
* To supervise high level engineering strategic support and Technical Authorities for Rotating Equipment.
Objectives of the position:
* To develop systems and processes to ensure that all rotating equipment offshore is capable of achieving their required availability and technical integrity at minimum life cycle cost.
* To ensure that the required levels of technical competencies are maintained within the Rotating Equipment disciplines.
* To provide high quality Rotating Equipment engineering strategic and frontline support to WEL operating facilities.
* To provide high quality Rotating Equipment engineering input to other WEL functional/business units (eg Project and Development Divisions).
* Provide advice on technical, operational and maintenance matters relating to offshore rotating equipment.
Key responsibilities/accountabilities:
* Develop and maintain the Operations Engineering Technical Standards and Guidelines associated with the selection, installation, commissioning, testing, operation, overhaul and maintenance of rotating equipment.

* The Operations environment demands very high production system availability from facilities with high inherent technical integrity and with high focus on safety and the environment. At the same time there is considerable pressure to contain costs.

Qualifications
* Degree qualified in relevant discipline.
* At least 10 years of offshore operations & maintenance experience with gas turbines and centrifugal compressors and their associated control systems.
* Knowledge and experience with steam turbines, reciprocating and screw compressors, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps as used in the oil & gas industry.
* Proven expertise as ‘Core Discipline Engineering Technical Authority’ with high proficiency in core discipline and technical leadership.
* Experience in developing and maintaining Rotating Equipment engineering technical standards and guidelines – providing technical solutions to operations and maintenance.
* Familiar with the international standards as applicable to rotating equipment and used in the oil and gas industry.
* Experience in establishing effective network(s) with Technical Adviser, JVP’s, Developments, Projects, other users, and other Woodside discipline groups.
* Team leadership and mentoring experience.
