MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: B.S. Engineering.

EXPERIENCE: Position requires ten (10) years experience in construction or associated engineering fields. Nine (9) years, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry, such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as an expert. Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, U.S. and Aramco s Codes, Standards and Specifications. A well rounded knowledge of project management, cost control and cost estimating.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include specifying and designing with Saudi Aramco and industry standards and practices.

Writing functional and derailed design specifications.

Prepare conceptual design packages and engineering budgetary cost estimates.

Responsibilities include providing technical services to Maintenance and Operations with regards to long term maintenance on concrete.

Serve in a technical lead role on structural and civil engineering.

Review design drawing and engineering specifications to produce review comments and perform quality assurance assessments.

Communicate with vendors and technical consultants to resolve complex issues concerning new technology revision to standards and purchase specifications, test procedure and new project design.

Provide mentoring and transfer knowledge, skills and experience to entry level engineers and designers.

Develop continuous improvements solutions and formulates the design basis by collecting, analyzing information and data relative to long term economic considerations and such other pertinent factors as may be involved as preliminary step in support of proposals for new construction, modifications or maintenance to facilities.

Assists other engineers in the solutions of problems outside their specialty (application).

Outlines the supporting service requirements such as drafting, surveying, materials take-off, requisitioning and clerical services, checks and coordinates the progress of such work, and reviews it for accuracy upon completion.

Reviews the work performed elsewhere than in SAO for conformance with SAO for conditions and to assure its appropriate relationship to existing installations, and if required, redesigns and recommends necessary modifications.

Studies and recommends appropriate sites and locations for proposed installation and facilities.

Acts as the project design engineer on assigned projects. Follows and inspects the construction progress of assigned projects assuring conformance with design specification, codes and standard, Recommends or confirms design change, material and equipment substitutes, and assures that costs do not exceed appropriate funds by anticipating overruns and justifying supplementary appropriation.

Performs a variety of related work such as initiating reports. Correspondence and cables relative to assigned projects, assembling performance data and conducting studies relative to the development, procurement or adaptation of equipment, interpreting the meaning and application of codes and standards, reviewing operating procedures and safety instructions, acting as technical consultant on operating problem.
