Stress Analysis Engineer - Stress/Piping/Petrochem 50-65 $/hr

Client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Stress Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in piping stress analysis and related structural design and analysis work on large petrochemical complexes. A BSME and a P.E. license in the state of California is required. You will need experience in assessing thermal and deadweight effects on complex piping configurations, including the use of simplified methods and more detailed and precise evaluations. You should have knowledge in two-phase flow conditions, vibration, relief valve openings, seismic and wind effect analysis. Experience with Mathcad, Caesar II and/or SmartPlant piping software programs is required. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards. Great opportunity with a leading organization. This is a long term contract assignment in the Los Angeles area, direct hire will be considered for the right candidate.
Questions you will be asked:

• Please detail your experience with piping-structural stress analysis (i.e. thermal and deadweight effects, two phase flow conditions, vibration, relief valve openings, seismic and wind effect analysis).

• How many years of experience do you have and in what industries (petrochemical, power, etc..)?

• Are you experienced with Mathcad, Caesar II and-or SmartPlant piping software? Please list which and how many years.

• Are you interested in a position near Los Angeles, CA? Are you interested in contract, direct hire, or both?

• What degrees or certifications do you have? PE?
