Scheduling Engineer

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: BS Engineering.

Experience: Seven (7) years in the oil industry or similar process industry. Experience must be such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as being capable of project and design assignments beyond the ability of the basic professional Engineer. A thorough knowledge of English is required to perform analyses and studies in depth, make professional presentations and keep up with technical advancements; Arabic not required but considered desirable for American incumbents in this position. Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, US and Aramco Codes, Standards and Specifications.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans, and provides work direction as required for the preparation of planning and scheduling controls systems and other practices to give Engineering and Constructions supervisors means to evaluate and improve the efficiency of their project execution.

Provides staff guidance to Engineering and Construction supervisors in one or more areas of planning and scheduling expertise by analyzing and evaluating all pertinent data.

Reviews work of scheduling analysts under his direction, check that reports and data developed are in accordance with established methods and requirements, and makes recommendations for future study or revisions. Approves work for transmittal to supervisor.

Analyzes major capital projects to plan the most effective execution sequences in light of experience and current industry practice.

Discusses coordinates and resolves long term and short term planning and scheduling problem with personnel through the company and with contractor organization. Act as technical consultants when required.

Assists in technical evaluation of contracts relative to their expertise in planning and scheduling and analyses in details performance.

Evaluates the planning and scheduling information collected from Project Management teams or contractors and advises management or exceptions to the plan and potentials corrective action and / or impact to the project.

Provides staff assistance in the preparation and maintenance of the Master Scheduling information in support of the capital program planning efforts and / or other planning and scheduling reports, procedures and services.

Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness and appropriateness of planning and scheduling information collected from projects teams or contractors and advices of significant exceptions to proposed and approve conditions and recommends corrective actions.
