POSITION DESCRIPTION: Working in a multidisciplinary characterization team, you will build geocellular models for carbonate and clastic reservoirs by integration of seismic, well log, core, image, petrophysical data for simulation, oil in-place assessment and locating multilateral wells. Experience in conditioning models with engineering data will be an asset. Incumbent should have working knowledge of geological mapping and log correlation. Application of advanced geostatistical techniques including object-based modeling are necessary. Fracture and dual porosity dual permeability model building skills are desirable. Incumbent should have basic understanding of petrophysical properties including effective porosity, permeability and water saturation. An understanding of seismic data to guide property distribution in the model is a definite plus. Incumbent will also populate model with petrophysical rock types from well locations, compute or distribute permeability, write and apply saturation height model scripts. Incumbent will compute pore volume and HCIP using deterministic and stochastic methods. Familiarity with streamline and reservoir simulation is a definite plus. You will need to support reservoir geologists and engineers in well planning and geosteering through updating the models. Project planning and management, report writing and presentation skills in English are essential.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Minimum Experience: 10 years. Minimum Education: BS Geoscience. Advanced Degree Preferred Major Geology. Other Acceptable Majors Petrophysics, Geo-Statistics, Geophysics, Engineering. Experience: You have 10+ years of industry experience. You must be an expert user of Gocad, Petrel or another industry-standard modeling package. Ability to program and scripting is a big plus. Advanced knowledge of Excel and VBA would be desirable. Fluent in both written and spoken English.
