Summary
Provides technical direction and leadership to work crew.
Essential Functions
Supervises and/or directs work crew. Provides team leadership in accordance with attached Team Leader expectations. Acts as mentor to team members. Visits all areas of responsibility and job sites daily. Examines work and materials for compliance with specifications. Reviews and organizes activities for efficiency and validity. Manages daily schedule and attends related meetings. Assembles work packages and designates to appropriate crew. Serves as single point of contact for the crews and coordinates activities with other crafts and AMS. Responsible for management of group’s costs within his authority.
Must demonstrate commitment to safety culture. Is accountable for safe work practices, toolbox meetings, and safety training compliance. Must participate in and apply skills acquired in the Safety Trained Supervisor Program.
Routinely performs safety and productivity observations; shop, field, and vehicle inspections; and is required to attend various components of technical, developmental and safety training.
Must demonstrate support for the company's environmental management system.
This position reports to Integrity Group Supervisors.
Qualifications
Must have at least five years experience in petrochemical or parallel industrial environment, and possess the knowledge, ability and skills to supervise or direct other craftsmen. Must be well versed in operations and safety practices and policies.
Must be able to work as part of a team. Must have strong communication skills in order to communicate effectively with fellow workers, alternate and client representatives. Must have strong working knowledge of PC computer systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in using CMMS.
Experienced Fire and Gas Technician preferred. Must be capable of achieving a Level II, State of Alaska License, in any NICET discipline within one year.
Must have Safety Trained Supervisor certification, or attain it within one year.
Must have valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements

MOBILITY: Employee frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to sit. Must be physically able to access all mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
HEARING: Must be able to hear audible alarm systems, and be able to discern audible symptoms of malfunctioning equipment.
VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and be able to correctly interpret control panel alarms.
LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift, pull and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must display ability to read and understand job descriptions, safety/technical manuals and safety/warning signs. Must display sufficient oral communication skills to be able to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.
ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to severe arctic weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, confined spaces, and the risk of electrical shock. May be required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
