Summary:
Prior working experience in a construction environment is required. Strong ability to analyze all technical aspects of assigned projects and solve complex problems; strong communication skills with ability to direct/assist engineers and designers and evaluating their results. This position requires going outside and physically assessing existing conditions and field problem issues. It involves troubleshooting in the field, helping derive solutions to installation problems, documenting changes in the RFI system, preparing rigging plans, and estimating projects using G2 estimating system.
Estimating experience would be a plus. Knowledge and motivation and/or having the aptitude and focus to learn quickly is necessary.
Essential Functions:
1. Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitoring progress to maintain schedules and budgets; identifies and documents changes in scope.
2. Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the Company
3. Assists the assigned Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project.
4. Ensures client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines.
5. Understands the client’s business goals in order to enhance the project work.
Preferred Educational, Experience and Skills:
1. Normally requires a 4-year engineering degree and minimum of 3-10 years of Project Engineering experience or in relevant field is preferred.
2. Professional registration is preferred.
3. Incumbent must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments.
4. Broad general engineering background and previous project engineering experience is required.
