We are currently seeking a Client Support Specialist to join our team.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Client Support Specialist is primarily responsible for the ongoing support of all LAN/WAN users at the desktop level. The Client Support Specialist provides Help Desk services relating to most software and hardware matters, including the installation, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, diagnosing, updating, and providing user access to most company systems applications consistent with the company’s strategy for the same. In addition the Client Support Specialist will demonstrate an ability to move towards a LAN Administration or engineering role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Works under the direction of the Manager Client Services
• Primary responsibility to maintain the operational performance of all desktop computer systems utilized by the company user base. This includes the troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading most components within the desktop system.
• Additionally, the Client Support Specialist III is responsible for providing ongoing support for all company sponsored software applications residing on the LAN/WAN including all remote site users and remote access users. Software support includes providing the users timely support when requested when difficulties are experienced.
OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES:
• Support the Network Engineer and LAN Administrator as required from time to time.
• Ensure all repairs are performed in a cost-effective manner whether preformed internally or through outsourced services.
• Ensure all warranty claims are filed in a timely basis.
• Ensure all inventory systems are kept in a controlled and professional manner.
• Keep all desktop systems safe and operational for user’s utilization.
• Assist other ITS application and operational manager’s and their staff as required for the successful deployment of their applications and related systems.
• Ensure all software installed on the desktop comply with ITS standards.
• Act as an escalation point for the group.
Specific Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS:
• Solid working experience of most common desktop hardware systems including laptops and docking stations.
• Solid hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to define and focus on essential elements of complex matters and varying priorities consistent with the strategy of the company, exercising prudent business judgment while maintaining effective performance.
• Experience in Help Desk Administration, strategies and procedures.
• Solid experience with the installation and troubleshooting of Microsoft Office Suites 2003, Outlook 2003 and other more commonly used applications within the company.
• Hands-on experience in the servicing and maintenance of Hewlett Packard and other typical Network printers.
• Ability to execute highly complex troubleshooting situations.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in the computer hardware and software information system industry, 2 years minimum experience in an NT environment (administration and support).
• Some College education.
• Multi-task oriented.
• Working experience with Ethernet LAN topology
• Working experience with Hewlett Packard Laser and or any other comparable Client Support printers.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, OutLook, and other major system utilized by the company.
• Working experience with Compaq and any other comparable hardware server or desktop systems.
