Mechanical Inspection Engineer

Position Description

The candidates Job Responsibility/Function will be to transfer and implement new advanced inspection technologies to Saudi Aramco facilities. Activities would include working with Saudi Aramco facilities to find solution to their inspection problems, searching for the latest advanced inspection technologies and their potential cost saving if applied at Saudi Aramco facilities, organizing the execution and implementation of new advanced inspection technologies throughout Saudi Aramco facilities; working with technicians and training them to provide inspection services to Saudi Aramco facilities; participating in research and development of innovative ideas to solve inspection challenges; preparing professional Engineering Report and presenting them at professional meetings and conferences.

Selection Criteria

The candidates should possess the skill/abilities/knowledge of having 10 years of experience in petrochemical industry with 5 years of that experience to be in one of the NDT fields (UT, RT, ET, etc.). Candidates must be able to operate advanced NDT equipments and have the ability to present professional papers at international conferences. The candidates should also be an active member of a professional society such as ASNT, IEEE, ASME, etc.

Comments

The Inspection Department is charged with the corporate responsibility for Inspection of materials and equipment purchased, and equipment and facilities constructed for Saudi Aramco. The prime mission of Inspection Technology Unit (ITU) is to investigate and introduce new advanced NDT inspection technologies to Saudi Aramco facilities to ensure the safety and reliability of their operation. Furthermore, ITU provides consultation to Saudi Aramco facilities to resolve their existing and potential inspection challenges. The incumbents will be quite knowledgeable in the nondestructive testing (NDT) field and will provide support and guidance in the implementation of advanced NDT technologies to the aging Company facilities.

Minimum Requirements

A. EDUCATION: B.S. in a field of Engineering

B. EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry, such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as a qualified NDT expert

C. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: No second language is required

D. OTHER: Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and U.S. and Aramco s Codes, Standards and Specifications
