MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: B.S. Engineering. M.S. or PhD in Engineering or other advanced professional engineering degree is highly desirable. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or registration is highly desirable.

Experience: Ten (10) years of professional experience, including years as an engineer in responsible charge of technical work in incumbent s field of specialty.

Recognized by Engineering Services as an expert. Incumbent will normally have achieved industry recognition through activities in professional societies and industrial organizations such as ASME, ASCE, ASTM, API, NACE, SEI and others. Incumbent must have published several papers in technical journals. Work direction skills are a prerequisite in some job applications. Must have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and be willing to transfer implicit knowledge to specialists and engineers in incmbent s field.

The Engineering Specialist incumbent will be required to have:

Solid experience in development and implementation of methods, programs and systems related to inspection of plant and equipment including Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and plant integrity assessments.

Effective experience in development and implementation of integrated plant integrity management systems and reliability programs and such as Risk & Reliability Management (RRM).

Solid experience in process plants inspection activities including major turnarounds and shutdowns.

Experience in development and implementation of quality assurance programs & tools such as 6-Sigma

Valid API certifications such as API 510, 570 & 653.

Active participation in international professional societies or committees related to inspection such as API inspection subcommittee, ASNT, ASME, etc.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Engineering Specialist position requires recruitment of a senior scientist/engineer or specialist to operate across the technology management function, initially supporting ongoing activities and acting as a coordinator of internal technical teams, to ensure consistency with strategic directions, leading to increasing emphasis on managing personal projects as a team leader in the area of intelligence gathering and collaboration development with outside research and industrial entities for a given portfolio of interest areas.

A successful candidate will be expected to:

Provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance, and Project Management in resolving complex problems concerning inspection methods and procedures.

Mentor Specialist Development Program (SDP) candidates to develop their technical ability and understanding per career path and competency Maps.

Develop new or modify existing SDP career paths.

Lead Risk Based Inspection Assessments and leads efforts to evaluate new RBI methodologies.

Review: 1) Design Drawings and engineering specifications 2) Waiver requests for applicability for review by ID and for verification of ID reviewers input to assure acceptability or provide condition of approval, 3) New and proposed standards.

Review new NDT technologies evaluation reports and adopts in the Corporate Procedures as applicable.

Take part in incident investigation or other studies such as plant integrity assessments as required.

Align Saudi Aramco s standards and procedures with Industry (ASME / API / AWS) code requirements.

Review repairs of piping, vessels, and equipment.

Perform interpretation as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the codes and standards.

Evaluate equipment for fitness for service based on API 510 and level I API 579 criteria.

Work with other Organizations in developing new standards and procedures or improving or updating existing standards, as required.

1Prepare and present technical classes and high level presentations.

Perform/lead assessments of Plant Inspection Units and report and present results.

Perform optimization of work processes using tools such as 6-Sigma.
