Business Development Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Manage the upstream business development process from screening through deal closure. This will include aspects of the initial Upstream Offering through formation of the upstream project companies, creation of Joint Venture companies and the subsequent components in exploration, appraisal and development.

Lead business planning and economic modeling efforts to determine commerciality for all stages of the project particularly appraisal and development of the discoveries.

Lead and/or support negotiations on behalf of Saudi Aramco and/or the Government in the various component contracts and obligations such as determining commerciality of discoveries, provision of shareholder services and gas, NGL or condensate offtake agreements, Determine the scope and objectives of the upstream deal, offering messages and technical solution that make up Saudi Aramco s and the government s upstream business offering.

Drive the screening and validation activities of each component to progress proposals through stage gates.

Lead efforts to formulate resource and funding plans to transform business proposal from concept to a closed deal or contract particularly in the process to move discoveries from appraisal to development and beyond.

Serve as liaison between UVD and the other internal proponent or involved organizations.

Participate in investor selection activities.

Coordinate with Saudi Aramco subject matter experts to draft associated Upstream contracts, documents and participate in the commercial, financial and technical framework for the components of the upstream deal particularly in the negotiation of the agreements and contracts with partners and Government.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

12 years experience in the petroleum industry out of which at least ten (10) years is preferred to be working with upstream ventures. Strong background in upstream business development, commercial issues and various contractual agreements in u8pstream areas; Must have relevant upstream industry experience with significant exposure to formulation, commercialization and negotiation of agreements and contracts related to all phases of upstream activities including, exploration, appraisal and development.

Must have excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal.

Strong financial background or training is highly desirable.

Ability to deal with outside partners.

Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or its equivalent. Advance degree is preferred.
