Development Geophysicist

MINIMUM RQUIREMENT:

Education: BS Geophysics, Physics, Geology, or Engineering.

Experience: 10 years. Demonstrate a solid background in all aspects of seismic interpretation with emphasis on field development and reservoir characterization. Candidate needs to have extensive experience with either LandMark or GeoQuest interpretation software, a comprehensive knowledge of well to seismic calibration and depth conversion methodologies, experience with application of acoustic impedance inversion and attribute analysis, and an understanding of structural and stratigraphic settings. Experience in seismic acquisition, processing is a plus.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES:

Incumbent will be engaged in reservoir characterization, seismic interpretations, and integration studies of cretaceous and Jurassic oil-bearing, clastic and carbonate reservoirs. Will be responsible for the prognosis of subsurface well locations for both deviated and horizontal well trajectories as well as drilling hazard assessment.

Must have the ability to evaluate and integrate multiple large 3D data volumes constrained by a large number of wells. Will also evaluate structural and stratigraphic features in the data volume and relate findings to field development concerns.

Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with other professionals within a multidisciplinary environment involved in all aspects of reservoir characterization, field development, and reservoir management. Make recommendations on appropriate geophysical data acquisition and work with geophysical acquisition, processing and technology personnel in the processing, evaluation, and integration of the data to address development concerns.

Written and oral communication skills are critical for effective collaboration with peers, team members, and management. Incumbent will be required to keep abreast of new technologies, particularly those that impact reservoir characterization and to transfer this technology to practical application with in Aramco.
