POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The applicant will be required to work within multi-disciplinary teams to provide sequence support for its members. The applicant must have a thorough knowledge of the relationships between bio-litho and sequence stratigraphy, together with their integration into sedimentologic analyses and log signatures. Utilize geological and/or geophysical software such as Geoframe or Openworks to produce cross sections, maps and regional geological studies. These studies will incorporate the basin tectonics, depositional environments and establish play fairways. Design and conduct sedimentological studies of core and cuttings for integration into regional projects and write concise technical reports, memos and presentations quickly and accurately. The applicant should possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to contribute in a team environment.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Education: BS Geology. Advance degree is preferred.

Experience: 10 years. Thorough practical experience and competency in mapping and cross-section computer programs e.g. Landmark, Geoframe, Petrosys. Correlate wells, integrating bio-litho and palynostratigraphies with sedimentology, petrography and seismic into a coherent sequence stratigraphic framework to support prospect generation. Clear understanding of systems tracts, facies developments within same and the predictive applications of sequence analyses for an exploration program. General understanding of the major elements within the hydrocarbon system and the ability to risk and rank prospects accordingly for exploration.
