POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Review, evaluate and/or design log acquisition and petrophysical programs for exploratory wells.
Provide petrophysical support to a team conducting geological studies and monitoring Joint Venture exploration wells. This includes the receipt, organization, QC, application of environmental corrections and loading of data from a number of Joint Venture companies and Saudi Aramco wells to project databases.
Utilize expert level skills in log analysis and formation evaluation to integrate log, core, sample, and mud log data to create both quick look interpretations and final detailed interpretations of rock properties, porosity and hydrocarbon saturation in exploratory wells. Provide recommendations for testing and evaluation of prospective zones.
Utilize communication and presentation skills, both oral and written to convey results to the rest of the team and to Joint Venture partners.
Participate in reservoir studies, prospect assessment, saturation-height models, integration of SCAL data, mapping, stratigraphy, volumetrics, reservoir performance and risk analysis.
SELECTIONI CRITERIA:
10 years experience in formation evaluation, log analysis and petrophysical support of geological studies and exploration wells is preferred.
Expert proficiency in log analysis and formation evaluation is required (Geolog preferred). Experience designing log acquisition and petrophysical programs for exploratory wells is required. Experience evaluating hydrocarbon zones is a must and experience designing testing and evaluation programs in exploration wells is highly desirable. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written are essential. Ability to interpret NMR and FMI will be advantageous. Knowledge of reservoir studies, prospect assessment, saturation-height models, integration of SCAL data, mapping, stratigraphy, volumetrics, reservoir performance and risk analysis will be an asset.
