MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: BS Geology, Geophysics, or Engineering.

Experience: Must have at least 10 years experience in exploration geology or reservoir characterization with a focus on integrated regional studies and/or prospect development. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written are essential. Candidate must have expertise in integrated geological studies, prospect generation and analysis. Specialized training or experience in one or more of the following is required; regional tectonics, structural geology, basin modeling, geochemistry, sedimentology and/or sequence stratigraphy. Experience with Joint Venture exploration companies will be an asset. Familiarity with formation evaluation techniques and software, mapping and cross section methods and software and probability and risk analysis and calculation of volumetrics will be an asset.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and conduct regional and local studies integrating the interpretation of well logs, gravity, magnetic, geochemistry,core descriptions and geophysical data to develop geological, depositional, and tectonic and basin models that will be used to guide Saudi Aramco and its Joint Venture partners exploration efforts.

Utilize geological and/or geophysical software such as Geoframe or Openworks to produce cross sections, maps and regional geological studies. These studies will incorporate the basin tectonics, depositional environments and establish play fairways.

Conduct prospect reviews through independent analysis or in-depth review of Joint Venture partner proposals and technical recommendations. Determine probability distribution of reservoir parameters and conducts risk/probabilistic analysis of the portfolio.

Review, evaluate and provide geological input for the design of log data acquisition, formation evaluation and testing programs in exploratory wells.

Design and conduct sedimentological studies of core and cuttings for integration into regional projects and the design of testing and evaluation programs for exploratory wells.

Formulate recommendations for optimization, collaboration and efficiency improvements by identifying synergies in the Joint Venture and Saudi Aramco exploration operations.

Write concise technical reports, memos and presentations quickly and accurately.
