POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyze and integrate surface seismic and borehole data using the latest computer-based methodologies in order to qualitatively and quantitatively estimate lithology, porosity, fluid, and rock properties.

Provide advanced seismic amplitude inversion, elastic inversion, AVO, seismic attribute analysis, pattern recognition (simple-correlation and comprehensive-neural network classifications), and forward modelling (1D to 3D, ray-tracing).

Work in multi-disciplinary teams responsible for well placement and reservoir model building.

Participate in various planning teams dealing with seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation, and on teams concerned with data integration issues.

Present work results through reports and oral presentations.

Provide consulting, training, and mentoring to other explorationists and young Saudi nationals.


SELECTION CRITERIA:

The candidate should have:

Experience in UNIX/LINUX environment is a must.

M.S. Geophysics or related science and at least 5 years of hands-on experience in performing stratigraphic analysis using various computer applications such as; Gocad Hampson-Russell, Janson, InterWell, IESX, SeisWorks, Geolog and Paradigm.

Additional background in seismic processing, stratigraphic interpretation, petrophysical / rock properties analysis and geophysical application programming, is a plus

Minimum Requirements: 12 Years with B.S.; advanced degreed preferred. Geophysics major or related fields.
