POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Duties & Responsibilities:

Process and analyze multi-component 2D and 3D borehole seismic data for reservoir delineation, rock properties and subsurface imaging.

Analyze borehole seismic data for rock properties (AVO), anisotropy and fracture characterization (shear-wave splitting), attenuation (Q), and acoustic inversion impedance.

Participate in planning, design and modeling of all types of borehole seismic surveys including Offset/Walkaway and 3D-VSP.

Calibration of surface seismic data using borehole seismic derived attributes including amplitude, phase and anisotropy.

Generate and present results both through written reports and oral presentations.

Extensive, daily hands-on analysis and data-management work using various computer applications on UNIX and PC designed for scientific and office productivity purposes.

Work regularly both independently and as part of several multi-disciplinary teams with responsibilities for well evaluation and reservoir characterization.

Provide significant consulting, training, and mentoring to others, particularly to less experience Saudi Professionals.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Minimum Requirements: 10 years experience with BS Geophysics, advanced degree will be preferred.

The candidate should have:

Familiarity with UNIX/LINUX environment and ability to write shell scripts.

Solid geophysical background and comprehensive knowledge of seismic wave propagation, multi-component seismic data processing and acquisition.

Experience in Pre-stack depth migration, and 3D processing particularly in areas with severe static.

Working experience with Seislink, Vecon and Velmap is preferred; experience with Promax or Disco is also a plus.

Additional background in geophysical application programming, well log editing and interpretation is a plus.

Experience in the design, processing and interpretation of crosswell seismic data is a plus.

Candidate should be driven, self motivated and a creative problem solver.
