Location: Saudi Arabia MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: BS Accounting, Finance or closely related field. MS or CPA or auditing certification highly desirable.
Experience: 12 years experience in auditing, corporate financial accounting, tax accounting, and cost accounting in the petroleum industry, including 5 years Saudi Aramco auditing or accounting experience with extensive coverage of SAO operations. Excellent command of oral and written English. Must be thoroughly familiar with: agreements with SAG, Petromin and Offtaker Companies; US and SAG tax laws; corporate tax, compensation and accounting policies, procedures and practices, as well as their background and intent of application; Saudi Aramco s accounting system, and Saudi Aramco s oil and gas operations. When applied in Auditing, should have professional, highly specialized knowledge of auditing principles and procedures, with particular emphasis on those of, and aptitude in implementing, current audit techniques such as EDP auditing, statistical sampling and flow charting. Knowledge of Company policies, procedures and organization. Tact and objectivity in dealing with management and lower levels in organizations under audit and in supervising highly skilled professional employees. Incumbent must be a recognized professional expert.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Formulates solutions and recommendations, and provides central direction and control over complex theoretical and practical accounting, tax, compensation or internal control matters not covered by standard practice or precedent.
Identifies major problem areas in all areas of accounting, tax, compensation or auditing. Initiates evaluation studies and analyses, and provides Management with recommended solutions.
Analyzes the effect of proposed changes of basic corporate policy, government agreements and laws, or standards issued by the American Institute of CPA s, the International Federation of Accountants, or the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Coordinates with public accountants in their financial audit of Saudi Aramco, and in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and related schedules for issuance to SAG, the Board of Directors, and the Company s Supreme Council.
Initiates response and takes appropriate action on public accountants observations concerning internal control, accounting procedures and other matters reported to Management.
Interprets and implements changes in financial accounting standards as established and issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board.
Initiates guidelines, coordinates and provides supervision to other professional accounting/auditing personnel assigned to special projects, studies or audits.
Designs and provides assistance in implementing procedures in unusual or special developments.
Responds to the requests of Management, SAG officials and the Board of Directors for information and analysis of financial data relative to Saudi Aramco s operations.
In Auditing, formulates and teaches innovative internal audit procedures to improve audit productivity and effectiveness and maintain audit quality within the technologically progressive business environment.
